Diamond Certified : Dr. Panagotacos and the Dermatology
Center of San Francisco have earned the Diamond
Certified
award of "Very High Patient Satisfaction".
Diamond Certified is a San Francisco Bay Area customer
satisfaction rating agency that performs surveys of past
customers to determine their satisfaction with companies.
To achieve the Diamond Certified award, a physician must
pass a 4-step evaluation consisting of a survey of past
patients, a review of the Medical Board of California
Consumer Information Unit for possible patient complaints,
verification of medical licensure, and assurance that
the physician has in place all necessary insurance required
by law.
Patient Satisfaction:
To ensure that the past patient data is unbiased and properly
collected and analyzed, Diamond Certified gives this job to the
Research Institute of California State University. The
Research Institute selects a random sample of patients
from the physician's records of the past 12 months. 100
patients are selected from the random sample and are confidentially
surveyed with such questions as "... how satisfied
are with the value of care you received from the physician?",
and "...would you go back to them again?". The
patients are then asked to rate the physician on a 1-10
scale. The rating is then compared to average ratings
for the same types of physicians in the
San Francisco Bay Area (in this case, other surgeons who
perform elective cosmetic procedures). If the physician
achieves a very high rating when compared to their peers,
they go on to the next evaluation step.
Complaint Bureau Checks: The physician's status is
checked with all local, state, and national complaint bureaus
and trade associations that are applicable to the physician.
If there is a satisfactory response, the evaluation proceeds
to the third stage.
License Verification:
The physician's license is checked with the appropriate
regulatory agency to assure that it is valid and in good
standing.
Insurance Verification:
Finally, written verification of workman's compensation
and liability insurance must be provided to Diamond Certified
by the physician's insurers.

is designed to be a fair representation of the physician's
