Dr. Panagotacos has been performing hair
restoration surgery continuously since the beginning of
his residency in 1969. He is a trained specialist in hair
and skin conditions, and hair restoration specifically.
He opened his dermatology practice in San Francisco in 1974,
where he has now been practicing for over 30 years. He has performed well over 10,000 hair
restoration surgeries during this time.

As an Assistant Clinical Professor, Dr. Panagotacos teaches Interns and Residents dermatology and dermatologic surgery, with an emphasis on surgical hair restoration at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) Medical School Dermatology Department.
In 1976, Dr. Panagotacos was appointed to the Medical Education Committee at Saint Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco, a position he held for ten years. In 1986, he became Chief of Dermatology at Saint Mary's Medical Center, a position he continues to hold today. At Saint Mary's, he has also been teaching Medical Interns and Residents since 1974.
Dr. Panagotacos has also lectured to surgeons on hair transplantation in both the U.S. and Europe, including seminars and live workshops in Athens, Greece.
Education
Dr. Panagotacos earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology
degree from the University of Oregon in 1962 and a Medical Technologist Degree from St. Joseph's School
of Medical Technology in 1963.
He received his Medical Doctorate degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. in 1968.
He did his internship in Internal Medicine at St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco, California from 1968-1969 and his residency in Dermatology at Louisiana State University Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana from 1969-1972. The Residency program at the Louisiana State University Charity Hospital had a strong emphasis on dermatologic surgery and hair transplantation, and as a Resident, Dr. Panagotacos performed hair transplantation surgeries nearly every week.

also has earned admitting privileges at Saint Francis
Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, and Seton Medical
